Making a Lighting Upgrade

My lava lamps and black lights have worn out their welcome, and I need to find an alternative lighting solution. For a while I considered reverting to normal light bulbs, but that idea didn’t last long. I’ve always liked the look of chandeliers and hanging lights, but they seemed a little too grandiose for my modest apartment.

Then the other day one of my friends suggested I look into Tiffany style pendant lights. I had never seen, let along heard of, a pendant light before, so naturally I was intrigued. Pendant lights are simple yet elegant lighting solutions that hang form the ceiling. And unlike a chandelier, they only have one bulb, making them cheaper and more versatile.

Update that Light Fixture

Are you happy with your wall light or ceiling lamp?  I suppose the average person never even gives it much thought.  It is there, and came with the home.   While these lamps are just fine, really, they are usually as basic as a wall fixture or ceiling light can be.  Usually a white or frosted white dome, though I have seen a few really odd yellowish colored ones.  Maybe yellowed with age.

Lighting has come a long way over the years.   How about a Tiffany Style Wall Light for some  color and elegance.   A Tiffany Style Ceiling Light would be  beautiful to wake up to as well.  Every morning when you wake up, there could be some color or a gorgeous design looking back at you.   This could add just a bit more detail and loveliness to your room.  Go ahead, give that poor basic lamp and your room,  a little more character.

The Softer Side of the Dragonfly Lamp

Tiffany Style Dragonfly  Lamps are so brilliant and  unique.   As popular as they are,  I tend to be more fascinated  by them and just stare at the complexity of their design.   I often wonder, would  I really  choose that design for my home.   I am so impressed with the person that adds them to their decor and can acknowledge how stunning they look.

When choosing a Tiffany Style Dragonfly Lamp for my home.  I am quite certain that I like them best  with  a mix of flowers  and other patterns.   This keeps the striking dragonfly image present, and softens the overall look of the lamp.

Designing Around a Light Source

Redesigning a room from scratch can be a challenging enterprise, and if you’re not careful you can become quickly overwhelmed. Rather than trying to plot out the results with meticulous care well ahead of time, try introducing a few pieces to the room and building around them for aesthetic effect. No study or living room is complete without a sturdy light source – perhaps a Tiffany style pendant light.

Once that art deco theme has been established, you can really let your imagination run wild. Try to find furniture that complements the lamp’s hand-cut stained glass and intricate metal stand. In fact, a series of small tabletop lamps would match perfectly and provide plenty of inviting illumination for late-night reading sessions. The redesign process will only get easier as you go.
