When I was left in charge of creating a look for my very own office, I was thrilled. It would be the first time in my life that I had a work space. I felt like I had really earned this privilege with all the hard work that I had done in my life. What I wanted to do was create a classic feeling room that would allow me to meditate and work on some writing projects that I’ve been putting off for years.
In my opinion, the lighting creates the entire ambiance for a room. As such, the first thing that I did was purchase some Tiffany style floor lamps that I thought would be perfect for the effect that I was going for. I think I want some tapestries and a nice rug next, but the lighting is definitely one of the first things that I’m thinking about.

I not only am in the business, and love all kinds of lighting , I also love finding out what your taste is. A friend of mine once told me that although she thought Tiffany Lamps were pretty and so colorful, the only ones that really caught her eye were the Mission style Lamp.
Mission Style Lamps are a very conservative and slightly more of a serious or simple approach to decorating with Tiffany Style Lighting. The line are strait, not so intricate, not so many different colors. Lots of earthy tones, white and creams. This was very appealing to her. What I thought was the perfect office Lamp, I now have a wider and better appreciation for. I love all the ideas that make us different and broaden our taste and views.
They didn’t have these when I was a kid. Winter fires in the fireplace, have got to be one of my biggest and fondest of memories growing up. We had a chain screen, a little on the rusty side, was hard to close, but who cared. The fire was beautiful.

Save that small table space that you have for all the many things you may need that little table for. The remote, a book, snacks, a drink, you know. You could fit two Floor Lamps many times more easily in a room than one Table Lamp and still have plenty of room for the rest of your comforts.
