Tiffany's Today

How lovely and  elegant is that hanging lamp of yours.   Do not  read any further if it does not matter.    Lamps are not the most important thing to everyone.  I get it.   I on the other hand,  have always been in love with Lamps.   As weird as that might sound.   I also Looooooove  Crystal  Chandeliers.  Oh my gosh are they beautiful…….but,  who is going to clean all those gorgeous individual crystals when they get dusty.  Sounds like way too much trouble and honestly, just a little too fancy for me.  Like wearing a ball gown every time you go out.  A Chandelier or a Tiffany Style Hanging Lamp.  Which one do I really like best.

Do you love Art,  Sculpture, Music , Theater and ALL that is considered the Arts?    Most of us have an appreciation for at  least two or three of these and are very proud of our taste and opinions about them.   Their was a very talented man named Louis Comfort Tiffany in the late 1800’s  who made Tiffany Style Table  Lamps and Tiffany Style Window Panels many others pieces of art form.  An art form that is  still going strong today.

Show us your Tiffany Style,  Stained Glass  Lamp.   Alright.  You cant really do this for me, but I am actually always curious.   I love to see other people’s taste and WHY you like it.  Maybe you could tell me what style you like and why and where you would put this beautiful piece of art.  For example, a Tiffany Style Dragonfly Lamp is a very strong and almost wild and beautifully bold in its design.  I know a couple of people that own them and this is their taste and choice.  Wow.  I find that so interesting, as I melt over a different kind of intricate designs or one with grapes and leaves, and roses.  I have another friend who is drawn to Tiffany Style Mission  Lamps.

If the current lamp in your home is in there because it was on sale and you knew it would give off the much needed light in your home.  You might consider branching out of the norm and choosing a beautiful  lamp and tasteful  piece of art, like a Tiffany Style Table Lamp or a Tiffany Style Floor Lamp.  A Tiffany Style Lamp that give off  a hint of your own personal style.  One that would make you proud that you had the good sense  and taste to even buy one for your own home.

Do you have a wall with a rich color on it, maybe a subtle brick or a rich and soft creamy pastel of sage or a minty green.    You are brave and have a wonderful sense of what you want.   A living Room, Bed Room, or Dinning Room, with one painted wall and a Tiffany Style Lamp full of colors and some similar shades of color to complement the wall can be a stunning sight.  It is pretty.  I have seen it done twice.  With a little help on picking the right shade of paint, you could really make a room look fabulous.    Be careful, this is for the person without wild and crazy patterns of furniture and other clashing stuff.

Maybe some darker blues in the lamp would be nice.   The bedspread or comforter another shade of blue or white, with pillow in another shade of blue.  Different shades of blue can all go together.  Trying to match colors exactly can be over kill of a certain color, especially when you already have a wall or two filled with one color.    So paint those walls,  add a couple of Tiffany Style Lamps and enjoy one of the easiest ways to freshen up and make a room seem brand new.

OK, lets see.   Keys in the door, unlock door and walk into your home or apartment.   Wow, what a cool chair…. no, sofa….no, picture…. no,  rug, anything?  I think,  from what I have seen in the average, hard working, raising kids home,   is this.   The wow factor in the Living Room is the family’s TV set.  Most are bigger than mine, which I admire simply because you need some good room now days for a large TV.   One time, I did walk into a Living Room that had a huge sofa set that looked like it could sleep 6 comfortably, and a friend of mine had an antique chair recovered and I wanted desperately to have one of my own.  These both had a wow reaction from me.  Other then that, every body has pretty much the same cozy  homes that we all do, and some have a wonderfully giant size TV and it is the only real focal point  in the room.

I think, if you have a lovely and tasteful family living area, including that giant TV set, and there is room for a little bit of color and pizzaz.   A Tiffany Style Floor Lamp or Tiffany Style Table Lamp could really add the WOW factor to the room.   Give that  ginormous TV set a little competition with the elegance and ambiance that  Tiffany Style Lighting  might add.  It could be the first thing that catches the eye  of a visitor and not the TV set. 

It is a fun and pampered feeling when you walk into an office and everything seems so feminine and frilly.  The surrounding make you feel cozy and girlie.  You enjoy your visit, the staff and the atmosphere.   I have been in a couple of pretty lady like offices with almost a feminine boutique atmosphere.  I  liked it.  A feminine room can be bold reds or pinks and blacks,  or  warm colors  of pinks, creams, lavenders, soft greens .  Furniture can really very with taste and budget.

Tiffany Style Wisteria Table Lamps and Floor Lamps have this lovely feminine appeal.   They are one of the classic Tiffany Style designs of the late eighteen hundreds and have  somewhat of a frilly and fancy look to them.   These lamps give  me a vision of running around in a long flowing robe with soft pink feathers on the edges of my robe, a pomegranate martini in my left hand, as I walk  around the room and turn on all of my Wisteria Lamps.

Are you happy with your wall light or ceiling lamp?  I suppose the average person never even gives it much thought.  It is there, and came with the home.   While these lamps are just fine, really, they are usually as basic as a wall fixture or ceiling light can be.  Usually a white or frosted white dome, though I have seen a few really odd yellowish colored ones.  Maybe yellowed with age.

Look around.   In the mood to update a little.   One of my favorite things to do.  There is always  a little change here and there to do around the home.  A new rug, table, vase,  chair, LAMP.   I have the budget of a piece meal.   One item at a time.   Each time I buy a little something to add interest to a room,  I feel so talented.   It always seems like a small new  item or change,  made such a BIG new difference.
